08/18/2010 – The Lady Cougar golfers traveled to Harrison Hills in Attica on Wednesday, August 18 and posted a score of 228 against Fountain Central. Fountain Central posted an incomplete due to only having three players.
The Lady Cougars were able to drop 14 strokes off their team score from last week against Greencastle. Valeria Scott was medallist with a 51, Meagan Schutter shot a 58, Josie Parent posted a 59 and Emmy Rees finalized the team score with a 60.
Overall, the girls continue to improve their team score but individual scores are still fluctuating from one game to the next. Several girls are capable of shooting in the mid to upper 40’s and stay there. The team also needs to have several girls become consistent low to mid 50’s scorers in order to be competitive with teams around the county.
The girls worked hard at the last several practices to improve their drives, chips an putts and it paid off against Fountain Central. Next week the girls have three away matches against Owen Valley and Cloverdale, South Putnam, and Danville and Monrovia.
