MONROVIA — Taylor Judy pitched a gem for the North Putnam softball
team Monday night and got some good run support to back her up as the
Cougars won 6-0.

Judy pitched all seven innings for the Cougars (10-8, 7-4 WCC),
striking out 14 Bulldog batters, including the first nine of the game.
The freshman allowed just two hits, a walk and a hit batsman.

“Taylor was really strong tonight. She was really overpowering,” Cougar coach Jim Brothers said.

The North defense also supported Judy well, committing no errors.

The offense pounded out six runs on six hits. Carlye McGaughey
led the way for North with two hits. Logan Doyle and Leah Crosby each
drove in two runs for the Cougars.

The coach said his team was making very good contact and was getting timely hits with runners in scoring position.

“If they can score five or six runs a game like this, we’ll be all right with Taylor on the mound,” Brothers said.
